Getting Started

There are three ways to get Engage happening in your parish:

• Option 1: Buy it, Run it.
  Engage can be purchased as a ‘Teach out of the Box’ product and used as designed or in whatever way desired. Parishes can provide their own facilitator accreditation and training using the Getting Started Guide provided in the Mentor Starter Kit. Couples already experienced in running marriage preparation courses will find Engage easy to pick up using the Getting Started Guide in a self-directed capacity.
   
• Option 2: Make use of PMRC Facilitator Training.
  Engage facilitators (or facilitators in training) may attend the Facilitator Training sessions offered by PMRC. Training usually takes place over one day or three evenings and includes all printed materials required to facilitate the programme with confidence.
   
• Option 3: Outsource training and management to PMRC.
  Parishes may prefer to out-source the management of their marriage preparation activities to PMRC. In this model, the parish nominates married couples to become facilitators. As part of their training, these couples attend the two day Celebrate Love Seminar for personal formation, followed by the Facilitator Training course. Every aspect of the administration of the course is managed by PMRC (bookings and fees, conduct of the course, provision of materials, supervision and in-servicing of the facilitators). Parishes need only select the married couples to become facilitators and support their initial training.
